Late hours of 28th – October -2025, 7pm became horrendous after a young man identified as Jalilu AKA jupita was reportedly shot on the leg by a police Officer in Kambali after a misunderstanding with a stumpet at a Prostitution Hub also serving as a Night Club in Kambali, a Suburb of Wa in the Upper West Region.

Jelilu, linked to Jamaica Youth Group, a very influential Youth advocacy was accused of Having a misunderstanding with a sex worker resulted in a heated fight, some police officers were called to calm issued But circumstances turned bloody when an officer used the gun instead of dialogue.

Some tyres were burnt on principal streets of Wa including JJ Rawlings High Street and Wadea Street by irate youth expressing displeasure over the shooting incident.

Some Other Eyewitnesses Expressed Concern Over incessant practice of Prostitution triggering crime in Kambali, the eyewitness name withheld indicated that, a prostitute was assaulted after a heated argument during the night.

“I saw them,I heard a thief was being pursued but the thief sneaked into the night club so Jalilu AKA Jupita got Into the club searching for him, later I noticed he was exchanging words with a foreign sex worker before she was assaulted physically and dragged into a nearby gutter, some members of Jamaica Youth Group were here and vandalized properties of the night club after the owner of Maxixco Gardens invited police to arrest them.”

So far police visibility has been on the high side at Maxixco Gardens after most of the sex workers relocated in tricycles popularly known as ‘Camboo’ to unknown locations.
