The Upper West Regional Coordinating Council headed by Hajia Faut Koray has issued a statement outlining the date for confirmation of President’s Nominee to occupy the Space of Lawra MCE after Demise of Late Alhaji Muazu who passed on in June 2025 after a Short illness. Before Late Alhaji Adams Muazu was appointed, he was a Teacher by Profession and a Businessman. He was 53 years old.

Alhaji Muazu – Yes Votes – 33
No Votes – 8

The New Nominee, Madam Soyelle Cecilia was appointed in October 2025 by the President, she aspired to be Deputy Upper West Regional Women’s Organizer but wasn’t Successful.

OFFICIAL NOTICE: DATE FIXED FOR THE CONFIRMATION OF THE PRESIDENT’S NOMINEE – LAWRA MUNICIPAL CHIEF EXECUTIVE

In accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution of the Republic of Ghana and Section 20(1) of the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) as amended, His Excellency the President has nominated Ms. Soyelle Cecilia as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Lawra Municipal Assembly.

I am pleased to inform you that Thursday, 13th November 2025 has been scheduled for the confirmation process of the President’s nominee. Kindly take note and make the necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful exercise in accordance with the established electoral procedures and guideliness.
