On Sunday, November 23, 2025, at 2:00pm, Police received report of a group of armed young men attacking road users around kendeu community in the Wa West District, robbing money and other valuables. The attackers had also assaulted and robbed some market women who were travelling along the route.

A combined team of Police and Military personnel were immediately deployed to the area, leading to the arrest of ten (10) suspects, whiles others fled. The operation led to the retrieval of five (5) locally manufactured guns, twenty five (25) AA live cartridges, two (2) spent cartridges, two (2) knives, and several spiritual talismans.

Preliminary investigations revealed that, the suspects had earlier abducted two victims, identified as John Gaan and Dari Moses Dondomor, who, together with their properties are yet to be found. The Police are in touch with complainants, who are assisting in investigation. The arrested suspects are in custody and all exhibits retained.

Integrated patrols are ongoing for deterrence and assurance in the area. Key leadership engagement with community leaders and other relevant stakeholders also ongoing to support search efforts for the missing victims and de-escalate tensions.

Their collective efforts have contributed significantly to maintaining calm and stability.
