The Jirapa Municipal Youth Association Chaired by Mr. Bayou Richmond in partnership with the Ghana Police Service are to enforce the use of crush helmets by riders to reduce road Accidents in the area.

JIRAPA MUNICIPAL YOUTH ASSOCIATION AND JIRAPA MUNICIPAL POLICE COMMAND.

HELMET ENFORCEMENT OPERATION

As part of efforts to reduce the rising fatalities of motorbike accidents within the municipality the Jirapa Municipal Youth Association agreed in our general meeting to collaborate with the Jirapa Municipal Police command, the honourable Assembly Members, the traditional leaders of Jirapa, the honourable Member of Parliament Jirapa constituency and the Municipal Chief Executive Jirapa to conduct helmet enforcement operation starting from 1st December, 2025.

All motor riders are hereby informed that:

  • Wearing a helmet is mandatory for all motor riders
  • Riders without helmets will be required to purchase one at a particular destination where receipt will be issued to you
  • Ridding in the night without light will be strictly enforced
  • ⁠Over speeding will also be checked.
  • ⁠Carrying more than one person on a motorbike not under any special condition,is also strictly prohibited.
  • Riding whiles on a cell phone call is also strictly prohibited.

This initiative aims to reduce the alarming rate of accidents and fatalities in the Jirapa Municipality

We urge all motor riders to comply with this directive to avoid inconvenience.
