On 2nd December 2025, The District Chief Executive of Nadowli-Kaleo District, Madam Mary Haruna was at Charikpong where she met with Chiefs and Elder of the Community on Several pressing social issues within the area.

She spoke extensively about Illegal Mining, Gun Amnesty and Dropping the Guns and also about CARD GHANA electrification agenda through Solar Powered Panels.

About Galamsey, the DCE condemned the practice advocating for it to cease.

“illegal mining activities should cease around the Black Volta as attempts are in process to cleanse the water and provide mechanization for full time vegetables farming where community members will get to make all year round income through vegetable farming led by FARMMATE.”

The Hon DCE took the opportunity to engage the Charikpon Paramountcy in the district. She thanked the Chiefs and people for their support and prayers. The Hon DCE took the opportunity to inform the community about CARD GHANA electrification agenda through Solar Powered Panels. She added that, illegal mining activities should cease around the Black Volta as attempts are in process to cleanse the water and provide mechanization for full time vegetables farming where community members will get to make all year round income through vegetable farming led by FARMMATE.
She also talked about SILENCING THE GUNS in the Community to ensure safety. Gun Amnesty was declared in the community for people to take advantage of and get their weapons registered.
She concluded her remarks by assuring the community of her unflinching support in addressing their development needs.
