The Mayor of Wa Metropolis, Alhaji Nurah Issa Danwana has pledged to Improve Street Lightening Systems from Military Barracks of Wa to Kpongu Community Located Along the Wa Poly Street in Wa.

He made the Pledge whilst delivering a Speech at the Second Edition of Kpongu Home Coming Ceremony on the 4th of January 2026.

The Mayor also outlined some plans in Place to extend Town water systems popularly Known as ‘Jambussie Water Project’ to the Community.

He Urged elders of the Community to fight assiduously to reduce the rate of drug abuse among the youth in Kpongu community by Setting up task forces.

Alhaji Nurah Issa Danwana recalled establishing a Solar community Water system close to the Area Council to enhance access to water in the community as part of the National Democratic Congress(NDC)’s Promise to improve standards of living in the Various Communities.
