A building containing seven (7) rooms with thirteen (13) occupants in Ga was razed down by fire on Friday, January 16, 2026.
Reports suggest that the fire started in the afternoon when many residents in the community were at the mosques for Jummah prayers.
Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service from the Regional capital, Wa, got to the scene, but it was too late for them to salvage the situation.
The incident happened at a time all occupants, including nurses and teachers, were away to their work places. As a result, all personal properties including motorbikes were burnt to ashes.
The cause of the fire is yet unknown.
The owner of the building, Kobina Issahaku, the assemblyman of Ga, and the people of the community are calling on stakeholders and the general public to come to the aid of the affected individuals.
This incident calls for the urgent need to station fire personnel and tenders closer to local communities.
