A Report from Sissala Radio in Tumu Municipality of Upper West Region has revealed that the Ghana Police Service though it’s Tumu-Wa Patrol Team has Arrested a robbery Kingpin Terrorising the Sissala Enclave which comprise Sissala East, West, Parts of Wa East and Lambussie.

The report was announced on Wednesday, 21st January 2026 and has set a sigh of relief of Traders and several public sector workers using in and around the Sissala Enclave.

Meanwhile the Upper West Regional Commander, DCOP Francis Yiribaare has urged residents to volunteer information to the Police in order to reduce crime in the Region.

some factors contributing to robbery cases along the stretch include bad road networks and structures per some findings made. Other factors include undocumented foreigners trooping in and out of the area.

A principal suspect linked to notorious armed robberies in the Upper West Region particularly the Sissala area, Mamuda Kunja 25 years, a Fulbe by descent and a gang leader has been arrested in a joint police operation comprising the Regional and the Tumu police commands. The suspect according to a reliable source close to the Tumu police command says he was arrested in a usual hideout in Ponyantega in the Wa West District on the 20th January 2026. Suspect Mamuda is a leader to a 5 member armed group and he is the 3rd person arrested so far. The remaining two suspects identified as Osman and Daudu Hamid are currently at large and measures been put in place to get them apprehended. The suspect has been officially charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and robbery and has since been arranged before the Wa Circuit Court and to reappear on the 3rd of February, 2026. He has currently been remanded in the police custody for further investigations.
