Earlier today, January 22, 2026, the Municipal Director of Education (MDE), together with a team of education officers and other distinguished guests, joined residents to officially launch the Mwamkuri Guo Foundation.
The foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO) established by an illustrious son of Mwamkuri Guo, Mr. Mathew Tuopare, the CEO and Founder of Guo Security, Accra, with the support of other devoted sons of the area. The initiative is rooted in a strong desire to give back and drive sustainable development within the community.
The Mwamkuri Guo Foundation focuses on key development areas including education, agriculture, job creation, and vocational/skills training.
As part of its immediate intervention in education, the foundation has recruited seven (7) teachers to help address the persistent teacher shortages in the Sabuli Circuit and the municipality at large. These teachers are paid monthly by the foundation, enabling them to earn a living while furthering their professional education.
In the area of agriculture, the foundation has already procured three tractors and a combine harvester to support farmers in Sabuli and its surrounding communities. According to Mr. Mathew Tuopare, this intervention is aimed at easing the burden farmers face each farming season, particularly with access to timely tractor services.
The Municipal Director of Education used the occasion to educate parents on the importance of education and encouraged them to actively support their children’s schooling. He commended Mr. Tuopare for his unwavering commitment to his homeland and his significant contribution to education and community development.
The MDE expressed confidence that the foundation’s intervention, especially in education, will greatly support teachers and the Municipal Education Office in addressing the ongoing challenge of teacher shortages.
