The former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Wa Municipal Assembly, Hon. Alhaji Issahaku Tahiru Moomin, has strongly criticised what he describes as non economic viable, the decision of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government to convert the land of Tendamba Primary School into a 24-hour economy market in the Wa Municipality.
He made this statement during a phone interview with Adel De Supreme on Upper West leading scio political talkshow Tegyaayela this afternoon.

Hon. Moomin expressed concern over the rationale behind the move, questioning why a government would contemplate turning a school into a market facility at a time when the country is in dire need of more educational infrastructure.
According to him, governments should be prioritising the construction of additional schools to enhance access to quality education rather than demolishing existing ones for commercial purposes.
The former MCE warned that residents and stakeholders would strongly resist any attempt by the government to convert the school into a market structure.
He further questioned the clarity of the government’s 24-hour economy policy, asking which individual within the current NDC administration has clearly defined what the concept entails.
“Is it the policy or what” he queried, expressing doubt about the practicality and implementation of the policy as it relates to the proposed market project.
