The Republic has filed Several Investigation Caution Statements and Charge Caution Statements on the Matter of the Republic Vs Anaatakang and Abdul Halim Yahaya in line with the Murder Case of Late Jontong Naa Mutala Tendana who was reportedly murdered in his room in April 2024.

The Republic has also appealed to the Wa High Court Presided over by his Lordship Osei Wusu Antwi for an Oder to direct Abdul Halim Yahaya to pay the Sum of 34,550 to the family of the Deceased Person(Mutala Tendana).

The Reason given by the Lawyer Representing the Republic was as a result of Appeal on the basis of admission made by Abdul Halim Yahaya in a statement Dated 14th April 2024. Abdul Halim Yahaya is accused of Owing the Deceased the said amount of money.

Lawyer of Abdul Halim Yahaya, Lawyer Paul Bewel Objected to the Request indicating that a separate legal approach should be sort after in the demand.

“..the amount mentioned even if it’s a debt by A2, the appropriate process is for a legal personal representative of the deceased to demand payment of same from A2 and if he fails to pay proceed to court.”.

Mr. Abdul Halim Yahaya was granted Bail in 2025 on the Grounds of Ill Health to make available Ghc500,000, two Sureties, a Landed property and to report to the police twice in a week. He has since met the conditions and is out of prison custody.

Case Management Conference has since been Closed Today, 28th January 2026.

The Casee has been Adjourned Till Thursday 29th January 2026 for Hearing.
