UPPER WEST REGIONAL POLICE COMMAND HOLDS ROUTE MARCH AHEAD OF NPP PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES
The Upper West Regional Police Command, on Friday, January 30, 2026, embarked on a route march through the principal streets of the Wa Municipality as part of measures to demonstrate operational readiness ahead of the NPP Presidential Primary Elections scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

The exercise, which commenced at 0700 hours, was led by the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Mr. Francis Yiribaare, and involved personnel drawn from the Regional Headquarters Formation. The route march was aimed at showcasing the fitness, visibility, and preparedness of the Police to respond swiftly to any situation that could threaten peace and security during the electoral process.
The personnel marched through major streets within the municipality before converging at the Wa Jubilee Park, where the Regional Commander briefed them on ongoing preparations for election security. He assured officers that adequate deployment plans had been finalized to reinforce police presence across all Municipal and District Commands in the region to ensure a peaceful, free, and fair election.

The route march ended at 0900 hours without any incident.
The Upper West Regional Police Command wishes to assure the general public of its unwavering commitment to maintaining peace, law, and order before, during, and after the elections, and calls on all stakeholders to cooperate with the Police to safeguard Ghana’s democracy.
