Life is a tricky ground and as we continue to increase in population as a Region, certain things will become difficult or stiffer to acquire in the near future if we aren’t stiff With spending and legitimate decision making. Bear In mind that no matter how lucrative your business or skill is, others are growing and could even improve and attract more attention in the industry than you, a reason you need to invest in skills, assets and social Capital.

These are 5 Things you’ll Regret not Owning in the Next 5 Years as an individual.

  1. A Plot of Land: It could sound funny but everyone needs that sense of privacy lately and several people would prefer to build their own apartments and relocate than to share troubles daily. Issues like arguing over electricity bills, a quarter plot of land to build on a family land, scrubbing the bathhouse without ethical considerations etc. Getting a plot of land could be difficult now but more difficult in future when the need arises for you to build at least a single room with toilet and bathroom somewhere in order to have your peace of mind. You’ll regret not owning a piece land in future. It could also serve as a Landed property and save you in future.
  2. Not learning multiple skills including TVeT Skills. Having administrative or communication skills without hand on skills will be punishable in future, learn Some practical skills including Plumbing, Mason Work, Carpentry, Electronics, Computer Technology. These are going to be the most rewarding fields in future, administrative skills will be taken over by apps including Chatgpt and the likes.
  3. Blaming People outside your family for your inability to make it. This single act is dangerous and can lead to loss of social Capital. The people to blame if you’re not succeeding are your parents and immediate family. Society wasn’t consulted before you were born. Society can intervene but it’s not their duty to change your destiny, it starts with your parents and immediate family. They are responsible for either your success or failure. Lack of social Capital means you’ll always pay heavily for every opportunity you need when others are getting it easily.
  4. Not Participating in Social Responsibility. Have you ever donated anything to your community? Books, pens, medications to health facilities etc? These are Some of the reasons people may become social Capital and make life easy for you, without donating and giving back to society nobody owes you anything and you’ll always pay a costly price for favors.
  5. Marrying Early and without a House. Owning a house doesn’t mean huge apartments, a single room with toilet and bathroom on your own plot of land is yours and is a secure place to marry. It’s not safe to marry in rented places though it’s becoming a norm. Once you have a wife and child or children your responsibility increases and it’ll be very difficult to build at that point. So it’s better to build before going into marriage, at least if you lose your life in the process, your family will be at a safe place where no one will chase them away over rent etc. It’s better to marry late in a secure environment that early in an insecure environment. You’re not defined by retirement you’re defined by your plans, let money work for you.
