Accra, February 15, 2026- On Thursday, 12 February, while en route to the 8th Congregation and 40th Anniversary celebration of the Tumu College of Education, I was involved in a road accident alongside the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu. Alhamdulillah, by the mercy of Almighty Allah, I am safe and currently receiving medical care. I am recovering well and have been advised by medical professionals to rest and observe a period of recuperation. I continue to respond positively to treatment and remain in excellent spirits as I navigate this recovery process.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to those who provided swift assistance, concern, and support during this challenging time. My deepest appreciation goes to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, President of the Republic, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, Vice President, the Right Honourable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Julius Debrah, Chief of Staff and Hon Hon. Samuel Nartey George, Minister of Communications, Digital Transformation and Innovations.
I am also immensely thankful to the leadership of Parliament and my colleague Members of Parliament for their comforting messages of solidarity. Furthermore, my heartfelt appreciation goes out to my fellow Ministers of State and the various Chief Executive Officers who have graciously taken the time out of their busy schedules to visit me and demonstrate their unwavering support.
I was deeply moved and spiritually uplifted by the visit of the National Chief Imam, who joined us at the hospital on Friday to offer fervent prayers for our recovery. His presence and blessings have been a great source of peace.
I extend heartfelt thanks to Hon. Issah Mohammed Bataglia, MP for Sissala East, for his timely and critical intervention in arranging our initial treatment. I also commend the dedicated medical staff of the Tumu Municipal Hospital, led by Dr. Ayariga, for their exceptional professionalism, and express my sincere appreciation to the officers and medical personnel of the 37 Military Hospital for the profound care and dedication they have shown us throughout this period.
I am deeply grateful for every call, message, visit, and prayer offered on our behalf. To the good people of Sissala West, my constituents, and the general public, thank you for your unwavering concern and encouragement, your collective support has been a tremendous source of strength.
