The Dr Hilla Limann Technical University (DHLTU) has held its 6th Matriculation Ceremony, marking a significant milestone in the academic journey of newly admitted students as they officially join the university’s community of scholars.
DHLTU, one of Ghana’s public Technical Universities in the Northern Belt of Ghana, Precisely in Wa, Upper West Region was established with a strategic focus on addressing both Technical, Digital and agribusiness challenges through quality education, research, and community engagement.

The ceremony took place on 27th February 2026 at the University’s Lecture Theater. In an address, Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Hamidatu Darimani, reminded fresh students that gaining admission into the university is not an end in itself, but rather the beginning of a higher calling and an academic journey they should be proud to undertake.
She emphasized that DHLTU is deliberate in its mission to equip students with the knowledge, skills, values, and mindset needed to confront pressing Technical and developmental challenges.
Security on Campus
The Vice Chancellor assured that lightening System on Campus shall be improved with several areas earmarked for street lights to be mounted.
Admission Statistics
For the 2025/2026 Academic Year, the University undertook an inclusive and farreaching admissions drive that attracted applicants from diverse social, cultural, geographic, and economic backgrounds. This deliberate expansion of access reflects the institution’s deepening commitment to equity, diversity, and equal opportunity in higher education.
Persons with Disabilities
The University has admitted seventeen (17), Differently Abled Students into various academic programmes and whose educational expenses would be absorbed fully under the Free Tertiary for Persons with Disabilities Policy. This milestone marks a significant step toward building a more accessible and inclusive academic community where all qualified students, regardless of physical, sensory, or learning differences, can pursue their educational aspirations. Out of a total of 2,575 applicants, 1,967 candidates were offered admission into the University’s various M.Tech/M.Sc., B.Tech/B.Sc., HND and Certificate programmes, representing an overall admission rate of approximately 76.4%.
The University recorded a 17% increase in admissions compared to the previous academic year, reflecting a growing confidence in our academic offerings and institutional reputation.
No Fee Stress Program
Out of the total number admitted into level 100 this year, 906 have successfully enrolled under
the Government’s No-Fee-Stress Policy, others are still going through
documentation scrutiny.

The University Launched it’s first Cosmetology Laboratory within the University’s Administration block as part of strategic commitment to academic excellence and Skills development.
Providing an overview of the facility, Dr. Flora Amarh, Senior Lecturer in the Cosmetology Department, explained that the laboratory is expected to enhance practical skills development, foster stronger collaboration with industry stakeholders, promote research and innovation in cosmetology and wellness, generate Internally Generated Funds (IGF), and support job creation and entrepreneurship within the beauty sector.
