Jalilu Adama is currently before the Wa High Court, Charged with Raping Braimah Jahara 31 Without her consent at Kusali in Upper West Region on 22nd May 2023.

The accused person who could only speak and understand Sissali language pleaded not Guilty.

In a the process of beginning the trial, One Jury Was withdrawn for exceeding the age of 60 Years, per the legal discretions interpreted by the Judge, the required age to be a jury is from 35 Years to 60 Years.

7 Member Jury was constituted comprising three Men and Four Ladies.

He was being charged according to section 97 of Act 29 of the 1992 Constitution for Rape.

Four witnesses are to be called to give evidence in support of Prosecution.

Details

Briamah Jahara was a pregnant woman aged 31. At about 8 am on the 22nd May 2023, she went to her farm to harvest shea fruits, whilst there she was Reportedly, attacked by the naked accused person. Who held a knife to her throat and threatened to kill her in order to have sexual intercourse with her.
In an attempt to resist the attack braimah Jahara held the knife at her throat and struggled with the accused person. But the knife cut he rpalm causing her to bleed profusely.
The accused person then forced her to the floor, used his knife to cut her underwear and then forced her right leg to her head whilst the accused person’s knee was on her left leg and the accused begun having sexual intercourse with her.
Briamah Jahara started crying and begging the Accused person that she was married woman and that her custom frowns on her have intercourse with another man whilst married.

Accused person already struggling with the protruding belly of briamah Jahara ordered her to get up and bend down in Doggy Style for him to finish fast considering her earlier strut with the accused which has resulted in a cut in her palm also resulting in severe pain in other rparts of her body.

After gratifying himself sexually and ejaculating the accused took the Tecno Mobile Phone belonging to briamah Jahara and a Sum of Ghc50.
