Several natives of Wa Metropolis and other Districts in the Upper West Region have called for intervention to protect successful natives outside the region with good intentions for the region from being eliminated spiritually or through poisoning at Social Events.

Speaking to Some Natives of Upper West in Techiman located in the Bono East Region, Sunyani in the Bono East Region, Obuasi in the Ashanti Region and other rparts of Western Region, they expressed concern that some sabotiers in communities in the Region have devoted time to eliminate successful natives who travel home with development in mind.

Some of these natives have the believe that they can be poisoned at Funeral or other social gatherings.

In some instances, several people have been poisoned in the past through food and other alcohol drinks with others being trapped spiritually after giving out money to relatives.

This has resulted in the Paramount Chief of Nandom Tradition Area, Naa Edmund Delle Chiir VIII Placing a ban on delayed funeral rites, preparing food at Funeral grounds and eating at Funeral grounds. His Traditional laws sparked debates with several praising the decision of the Paramount Chief to ban the practices at funeral grounds.

The President of Upper West Regional House of Chiefs, Naa PUOWELE KARBO III, Lawra Naa is being called upon to assist in addressing the problem.
