During the Eid Festivity in Lawra Municipality, held on Saturday , 21st March 2026, Muslims Broke their fast after Beginning the Ramadan Fasting in Middle of February 2026.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Madam Soyelleh Cecilia was a special guest of Honor at the Occasion however, as a result of the High temperatures, the sun was scotchy and concerned Muslims at the Grounds opted to use a Prayer Mat known in Islamas sajjadah as a resort to provide shade for the MCE instead of a Canopy.

The Development has sparked debates over poor planing and a ploy to dent the image of the Municipal Assembly’s Leadership.

The Current Municipal Chief Executive, Madam Soyelleh Cecilia Took over office in October 2025 after Demise of Late Alhaji Muazu on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, few months in office after a short illness.
