The Member of Parliament for Wa West Constituency, Supt. Retired Peter Lanchene Toobu has outlined Premeditations in place to Reshape some roads in Wa West District in order to enhance economic growth in the District.
He released the statement of his Meta Page Today, 26th March 2026 assuring he would improve two key roads in the South section within Gurungu – Dornye & Kukpali – Buka.

He also assured that the Ponyentanga – Nahaa road is under construction whilst A new road is to be constructed from Welteng – Tampuoro.

Wa West District is second most populated district in Upper West Region according to the Population and housing Census 2021 with a population of 96,957, consisting of 45,880 males (47.3%) and 51,077 females (52.7%).

Statement

The reshaping and creation of roads in Wa West have become a daily affair. I shall not relent until there is appreciable level of improvement of the road network in the Constituency.

The team is currently working on the Ponyentanga – Nahaa road. A new road from Welteng – Tampuoro is next.

Two key roads of interest are Gurungu – Dornye & Kukpali – Buka which shall soon receive attention.
