29th of March 2026, the Wa Metropolis was hit with severe flooding in several areas including Mangu, Kambali and other nearby Communities within the upper West region.
The Kpaguri Electoral Area wasn’t spared, according to the Assembly Member for the area, honorable Osman Nurideen. He expressed concern over the grievous flooding that occurred within his letter area and indicated that, pragmatics steps have to be taken in other to curtail the situation of severe flood ahead of the rainy season.

“Kpaguri is not also spared in the hazards of today’s rains.”
Several areas affected by the flood include Kpaguri, Kambali, Kpaguri, Dokpong, Kumbiehi and Dondoli.
Several Stakeholders have blamed poor planning and building on Water Ways as a reason for severe flooding in Wa.

A Senior Research with PhD in Environment Resource Management from the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies(SDD UBIDS), Now known as University of Business and Integrated Development Studies(UBIDS), Dr. Moomin Seidu has called for Government to implement policies that would effectively harness positive outcomes in addressing poor Urban planning resulting in floods in Wa.
