Award Winning Artiste by Stage Name Kwesi Arthur will be at the Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies to perform for the overly expectant students.

His visit will be on Saturday 16th of July 2022.

Kwesi Arthur was at In-Service Training Centre on the 12th of July 2022 to thrill his fans with several of his songs.

Over 10,000 of his fans were enthused with his performance and as a result the crowd at In-Service Training Centre became out of Control.

Kwesi Arthur’s After Salah Performance was one of the most memorable events within the Upper West Region. He performed several of his songs on stage Including Pilolo, Baajo, Grind Day.

A gate fee of Ghc50 was charged projecting returns of over Ghc500,000 for the Event Organizers.

UW: Wiyaala Joins Recording Academy’s 2022 Membership Class

The Recording Academy, home of the renowned Grammy Awards, has invited music professionals which include Ghanaian musician, Wiyaala, to join its membership.She joins over 2,000 people who were invited to become voting members and more than 600 additional people who were invited as professional (non-voting) members.

Takingto her social media pages, Wiyaala thanked the Recording Academy for the invitation.

She also shared an artwork from the Recording Academy acknowledging her as part of the ‘2022 Member Class.

’According to a report by Billboard, those invited have until July 12 to accept their invitations if they are to vote for the 65th annual Grammy Awards.

Meanwhile, Wiyaala is not the only Ghanaian to have received an invite from the Academy.

In 2021, reggae/dancehall artiste Stonebwoy and Grammy nominee Samuel Bazawule, popularly known as Blitz the Ambassador, were invited to be members.This forms part of the Academy’s plan to expand and diversify its membership.

It currently has more than 12,000 voting members and more than 3,000 professional (non-voting) members.In a video posted to their social media pages, Director of Member and Outreach Systems, Ashley Thomas, reported that 56% of the total 2,700 invitees are from “underrepresented communities.”She further said the new invitees show “equality and equity” between men and women – “continuing our commitment to creating a more welcoming and safe environment for all individuals across the industry.

”She noted that the new member invitees represent more than 13 different crafts and 22 different genres.

In 2021, the Recording Academy in a statement wrote that the invitations also reaffirm their recognition of the important contributions of music people to influence progressive changes within the music industry.

Sports Athlete Prosper Dakorah who partook in the 2022’s Ghana Strongest Program has been Declared Winner for Season 11.

He will be going home with a cash amount of Ghc8,000 and a Car, he will also go home with 200 bags of Ghacem Cement donated by sponsors of the Program Ghacem Ghana Limited. He will also be entitled to three months free healthcare.

He was in the competition with Bright Appiah and Godfred Akolbila.

Bright Appiah was first Runner Up whilst Godfred Akolbila was Second Runner Up.

Prosper was able to lift and hold a Tricycle for 3 minutes as part of the competition

Kwasi Arthur will be at the In-service Training Centre on 11th of July 2022 as revealed by the Artiste in a short intro dubbed “Sallah Fest with Kwesi Arthur”.

The entertainment program is organized by Freeking Events and the Gate fee is set at Ghc30 for Single and Ghc50 for Couple.

UW: Raphius Disclosed How Much he Takes Per Show

Outspoken Upper West Musician who has won several awards in his works has Disclosed how much he charges per show and the conditions attached.

In an interview with Upperwestmedia Team, he Narrated what it takes to charge a show organizer the amount he decides to charge.

“For hiring, I can’t be straight to the point, every show has what you consider before charging, there are shows I can go and perform for free, there are people that have Invested in my career in a way, let’s say if Hon. Albany Bagbin should call on me to perform at his event, I can’t charge him because he has invested in my brand to a certain level so I have to be loyal, if it’s a normal show it will depend, I have a range I don’t go below, I charge higher than any artiste in Upper West, let’s assume we are to go for sponsorship, I’ll get more sponsorship than any other artiste, that is why I was able to organize my own show at the National Theatre but what I do is that I consider the individual involved before charging..”

He used Mayweather as a reference in his career indicating that some people we see in his show do not pay to enjoy the program, he continued that Mayweather doesn’t charge certian fans to entertain them, he added that he can’t charge certian people to perform but he didn’t disclose exactly the amount he charges to perform at shows.

Raphius has released hit songs such as Lilaafi, Boinbuora, Beautiful Enemy, Bayiri Jombie, Dogori and many others.

UW: Samini wins GIMPA SRC Elections

The Ghanaian dancehall star contested as SRC President of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration. According to results from the polls this evening, Samini has beaten the other candidate to win the election.

He polled 307 votes against his competitor, Theophilus Quartey, who gathered 212 votes. This makes Samini the official GIMPA SRC president-elect. Some GIMPA students have already started congratulating the musician.

Samini returned to school this year after he announced that he is now studying at GIMPA. In a post he shared on social media, he encouraged anyone who wishes to return to school to do so as it is not too late.

“This post is to inspire whoever wants to go back to school that it’s NEVER too late to start from wherever you left off,” he wrote. The ‘My Own’ singer is in the Business School where he is studying Finance.

Samini who actively campaigned for the NPP in the 2020 elections later announced that he would be contesting in the GIMPA SRC elections as the President. “I Emmanuel Andrew Samini popular known as Samini picked up forms to stand for GIMPA SRC Presidency,” he said in a video recorded on campus.

If all things go well and I am approved, I will be going for the elections coming few days time,” he continued. Campaigning for votes, he added that “and I urge all of you to come in your numbers to vote for me so we bring a massive change“.

Accordingly, Samini has now won elections. However he is yet to break his silence from the victory he has chalked from the elections this night.

UW: Raphius Gives Reason Why He Composed Lilaafi Song

Raphius Amigos won Artiste of the Year At NEA 2019

Award Winning Artiste from Wa In the Upper West Region, Raphius Amigos has disclosed reasons why he composed a controversial song tittled Lilaafi.

The song was released seven years ago and has remained a hit song in family houses though it creates controversy amongst people due to the message which seeks to call for Justice from God.

Lilaafi has been banger for music lovers in Upper West Region.

“I think Lilaafi, I composed this song ending of 2015, I got betrayed by a close friend, it’s always funny when you move with a friend and later get disappointed by the friend who only focuses on their interest, you help some people and they turn to stab you in the back, so generally, its due to betrayal I had from a friend that urged me to compose the song”.

Raphius Amigos however Didn’t disclose the friend he had the issue with.

UW: My Dad Supported my Music Career – Pibilii Naa

Emmanuel Andrews Samini, known by his stage name Samini, has revealed that he is more of a mummy’s boy as compared to speaking about his Dad.

Samini made this revelation on the GTV Breakfast Show in an interview with Kafui Dey.

Ahead of Father’s Day celebration on 19th June, 2022, Samini disclosed that the reason he does not always talk about his father is that his mother was his biggest fan, which is why he is more of a mummy’s boy.

“When this whole thing started, my Dad was not a fan of the stage and art, even though he loved music.

“He played most of the music that I listened to in the early age, but because he wasn’t too sure about the space being too lucrative”, Samini said.

He continued by saying “my dad and I never met eye to eye even though we lived in the same house, sometimes, I will just be lurking around until he leaves, then I feel free around because when he sees you, he wants to know why you’re not in school and why your hair is bushy and all of those stuff and so we didn’t really get along for a few years, but, he’s my guy”, he added.

Samini concluded by saying that even though his Father was strict, after he appeared on Television, his father managed to understand his decision and decided to support him financially, including his family.

Award Winning Dancehall and Raggae Artiste who was previously Ambassador of MTN Ghana and Strong Supporter of the New Patriotic Party, Emmanuel Samini has declared his intention via stickers and posters to be SRC President of Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration(GIMPA).

Pibilinaa, which is his Royal Tittle in Wa has indicated his intentions to make acquisition of hostels for rent easy and affordable for students, he added that the school’s app will be improved to have more features for easy accessibility, he continued in his manisfesto that he will create an SRC help desk to assist Students with loans, NSS Registration and Intentionship Support desk. He added that he will revive the students shuttle service to lessen Transportation burdens.

Meanwhile, Samini few days ago blamed the NDC for attempting to sabotage his political campaign.

Samini Hopes to be Assisted by Mensah Mabel as Vice President.
