The Member for  Parliament for Lawra Constituency,  Lawyer Bede A. Ziedeng has on the 9th of May 2022 Rehabilitated the Eremon Health Centre in tye Lawra Municipality.

In his public address he advocated for staff of the facility to inculcate in themselves the culture of maintenance for the logistics provided to last.

ADDRESS BY THE MEMBER OF PALIAMENNT FOR LAWRA HON.LAWYER BEDE A ZIEDNG AT THE COMMISSIONING OF THE REHABILITATED WATER SYSTEM IN EREMON HEALTH CENTER ON THE 9TH MAY,2022.

Mr chairman, the Eremon- NAA, the municipal chief executive, the municipal director of health, the assemblymen and women from Eremon present, the Constituency chairman of the N.D.C, other party executives present,our revered chiefs present,my staff of this facility,distinguished guests present, ladies and gentlemen I am happy to welcome all of you to this brief ceremony this morning the ceremony itself is to commission the rehabilitated water systems in the Eremon health center.

Mr Chairman, I have already started at domwine this morning that, even though I had known of some of the challenges being faced in the health sector of the Constituency prior to my being elected member of parliament, I nevertheless decided to conduct an inventory of the challenges the health facilities within the Constituency were facing and I was also assisted by the municipal health directorate to determine which areas were of priority concern,  indeed it was out of the collaborations between us that,among other areas this facility was also selected.i must again commend the municipal health directorate for their co- operation and show of commitment to the whole exercise.i hope I can continue to count on your co- operation.

mr.chairman, as l clearly stated at domwine,all this forms part of my overall vision of providing potable water in all spheres of life within the constituency.for the Eremon health center, the rehabilitation works cover the following areas:

EREMON HEALTH CENTER

(1) the hand pump which was being used as a mechanical borehole has been removed and replaced with a subsimissible pump for the mechanization.
(2) A New polytank has been mounted with pipelines from the borehole to the polytank.
(3) water has been connected to the health facility, with a tap to the laboratory.
(4) pipelines have been connected to the living quarters of the staff.
(5) A chambre has been connected to house as a measure against any stealing activities.
(6) chlorine has also been dropped inside the borehole to keep away bacteria.

Mr.chairman, since the Eremon health center was established, more than 50 years ago no such facility has ever been provided.and yet some people think that these things are minor but I think they are not.these are challenges faced by the facilities and we have to deal with them.

In the case of Eremon health center it’s the first time water is running through taps for their use.this however, also comes with some responsibility.we have to change our attitude in terms of our maintenance culture.we have to regularly maintain this system in order for it to last.the facility at the Eremon health center is at a cost of fourteen thousand five hundred and twenty-one Ghana cedis forty- six pesewas ( GH 14,521.46).

Let me also use this opportunity to again thank the chiefs and people of this Constituency for all the cooperation I have enjoyed from them.together we shall develop the lawra Constituency.
