The National Democratic Congress (NDC) communication bureau in the Wa West Constituency has called on the government to complete all abandoned project in the Wa West constituency.

Mr. Olinaa Ibrahim Ababaasa, the communication officer of the NDC in the Wa West Constituency stated Unambiguously at Gangaa Fm in the Jirapa Municipal after press conference held at Dorimon.

He held the New Patriotic Party to their words, reminding them of their promise they made in the past, According to Olinaa, after eighteen (18) months in power, their pledge that no village or town would have a toilet or Water problem in the country promised by the Vice president is all vanity.

“It is an incompetent and broken promises given by the Dr. Bawumia” he added. The government’s failure to fulfill its commitment in building toilet facilities in a timely manner has left constituents in the Wa West District in dire straits.

He said, in 2017, the NPP government initiated the building of 10 – seated capacity toilet facilities in the Wa West district with a promised of completing them within 6 months. The communities include Lassia, Ga, Dorimon, Wechiau, Nahaa, and Siiriyiri. Abandoning them has led to lack of proper sanitation which also undermines the dignity and privacy of persons more specially women and the marginalized in the communities.

Speaking to Francis Edward Dongyiri on Gangaa Ansuma drive, he called on government to allocate the necessary resources to engage qualified professionals to work diligently towards completing those toilet facilities and other abandoned projects such as Wa – Dorimon road, Lassia Tuolu SHS project, Ga – Wechiau road, Dorimon E – block and the rest without further delay.

“If Hon Vida Diorotey the DCE and her government could not initiate proper development at all, they should not also disgrace the people of Ghana and Wa West District.
