
The Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University Established in 1999 as Wa Polytechnic, the University was converted from a Polytechnic (Wa Polytechnic) to a Technical University in April, 2020 in tandem with the Technical Universities (Amendment) Act, 2020 (Act 1016).
The University has been ranked ahead of Several Technical and Public Universities in Ghana.
The ranking which was done by Webometrics.com is aimed at promoting web publication and their primary target is to support Open Access initiatives, electronic access to scientific publications and to other academic material.
According to the Webometrics.com website, “We intend to motivate both institutions and scholars to have a web presence that reflect accurately their activities. If the web performance of an institution is below the expected position according to their academic excellence, university authorities should reconsider their web policy, promoting substantial increases of the volume and quality of their electronic publications.”
Koforidua Technical University is ranked 60th in Ghana and 8,103rd in the World, Ho Technical University is ranks 78th in Ghana and 7,303 in the World.
Cape Coast Technical University is Rank 86th Best in Ghana and 13,295 in the World.
Accra Technical University is Ranked 71st in Ghana and 10,121 in the World.
Sunyani Technical University was ranked 36th in Ghana, Kumasi Technical University as also Ranked 7th in Ghana. Tamale Technical University was 39th and Takoradi Technical University was also 41st in Ghana.
Akenten Appiah Menkah University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development formerly UEW Kumasi Campus is Ranked 64th and 16,762 in the World.
Ghana Institute of Survey and Mapping was 75th in Ghana and 16,185 in the World.
Bolga Technical University was 84th in Ghana and 26,026 in the World.
The University of Ghana Legon was ranked first in Ghana followed by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, University of Cape Coast Third, University for Development Studies fourth, Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration Fifth and University of Education, Winneba Sixth.
Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies SDD-UBIDS was ranked 15th and 15084 in the World.
