Some road Users of the JJ Rawlings High Street in Wa are in the State of Fear after they noticed a portion of the dual carriage road is being washed away by water.
The stretch which is few meters from Kambali has been partly washed away exposing the road to more erosion, this begun after a contractor executed his works and left the portion of the road unattended to.
The Construction Company by Name Seidmo Realities Limited in partnership with the Wa Municipal Assembly and with Funding from the World Bank Constructed a 0.225km Reinforced Storm Drain between Kambali and Duori.
The Contract was awarded under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Program(GSCSP) through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
It was after the contract the Road begun eroding and creating inconvenience for road Users, part of the road’s supporting gravel bricks were removed in the process of constructing the Drain, this resulted in the road eroding beneath directly opposite Amadaway Fuel Station in Kambali.
The project was supervised by Associated Beaver Consult.
Residents have called on the Assembly to attend to development in order to avert impending disaster.
