The Assembly Member for Beleofili Electoral Area in the Wa West District, Mr Yussif Abdullah appealed to District Assembly to construct accommodations for teachers who are teaching in the electoral area.
While he commended the government for the efforts at providing school infrastructure in the area, he appealed for accommodations for the teachers to enable them to provide quality teaching and services.
Speaking in an interview with Info Radio, the Assembly Member noted that most of the teachers come from afar and thus find it difficult to get accommodations.
He also disclosed that the Dariguateng School lacks JHS and Kindergarten blocks which need the attention of authorities.
He added that the Dariguateng School has not been included in the Ghana School Feeding Project (GSFP) which also impedes the smooth progression of academic activities.
He said, as a result, pupils’ enrollment and retention in school are gravely affected as hunger deters them from school.
He appealed to the government through the Wa West District Assembly to extend the school feeding project to the school.
