A ceremony to outdoor the Tumu Kuoro, his excellency Kuoro Richard Babini Kanton as the regional president of the upper west regional house of chiefs took place in SEM ‘B’ lodge in Wa on 11th August 2017. He was sworn in by a High Court Judge of Wa.

The Tumu Kuoro his Excellency Kuoro Richard Babini Kanton IV was sworn into office for a four year term. He is took over from Nandom Naa, Dr. Pouri Chiere.

The Tumu Kuoro asked the government to pay attention to the terrible roads in the upper west region which is hampering development.

He was happy about government initiative on fertilizer subsidy for farmers, planting for food and jobs initiative and encouraged government to do more to help farmers.
His excellency,Togbe Afede, the president of the national house of chiefs and a member of the council of state asked him to undertake development projects for his people in order to make chieftaincy relevant.

The event was witnessed by the Minister for Chieftaincy Affairs Hon.Kofi Dzamesi, members of the Upper West Regional House of Chiefs, Regional Minister Hon.Alhassan Sulemana and His Deputy Hon. Amidu Chinnia Issahaku and Other dignitaries.

The Upper West Regional house of chiefs according to the chieftaincy Minister has been allocated Ghc300,000 for the completion of their office complex whiles Ghc50,000 have also been released as goods and service.
