Former GBC Upper West regional correspondent Chris Alalbila passes on

The death is reported of Chris Alalbila, formerly of GBC at Wa in the Upper West Region.
He died at the Upper West Regional Hospital (March 9) after a short illness. He was 66.
Mr Alalbila joined GBC URA Radio in the 80s having worked with the Information Services Department.
The late Alabila moved from Bolgatanga in 1989 to Wa, six years after the creation of the Upper West Region.
He rose through the ranks to become Acting Regional Director of GBC Radio Upper West.
He was noted for his consistency in contributing to the magazine programme “Ghana Today” on radio.
He was an Editor in Chief before going on retirement in 2012. He is survived by a wife and three children.

He attended Notre Dame SHS(1964) and proceeded to Ghana Institute of Journalism(1983)

He was born on June 21st 1952 and a native of Bugri in the Upper East Region.
Burial and funeral arrangements will be announced later.
