Service Personnel for 2017/2018 Academic year have expressed disappointment in the approach the service scheme has adopted towards paying them thier allowance, the group which calls itself concerned Service Personnel of Upper West said this during an interview with Upperwestmedia.net on 13th March 2018.
They suggested money was not the aim before they opted to serve the nation but for now guardians who used to support them have turned their back on them because they assume they are being paid. “If from 7th February till 13th March we are not paid, how does the nss expect us to survive? They post us to deprived areas far from our families yet would not show concern by paying us on time. That’s Unfair our lives depend on these allowances where ever we are posted to, as we speak to you now some personnel have opted borrowing to survive which is not the best, they sitting in the office can’t dispute they haven’t been paid last month.”
They ended by suggesting the scheme ups their game in the payment process.
Reacting to this, the scheme has suggested payments have been made so personnel’s can check their accounts for withdrawal.
