Wa polytechnic as part of steps to convert it into technical university has been assessed by The Committee for Technical Universities Ghana as part of measures to determine the institution’s standards met so far.
A lecturer of Industrial Arts Department, Mr. Tawiah spoke to Upperwestmedia.net on the standings of the institution. He said the school scored 13 points out of 16 in the assessment process thus 1 point behind Bolga polytechnic which scored 14points.
Probing to know the criteria behind the grading, Mr. Tawiah Added that the committee takes into consideration, Staffing, Infrastructure, intake, Programs offered and Students Performance to determine the requirements for convention.
He concluded that the assessment wasn’t below belt per the total although it was below expectations and added that soon the institution will be converted alongside Bolga polytechnic.
