Subject: Parliament Approves Conversion of UDS WA Campus into University
Date: 17th July, 2019 Time: 04:55pm
The coalition of concerned citizens is pleased to laud government for keeping on its promise to facilitate the passage of UBIDS draft bill into a university status. The group is particularly pleased with the education sub- committee and the minister of education for acting in the interest of sympathizers of the UDS Wa Campus now UBIDS.
As we celebrate with joy of the honour done us, we must be cautious that, there is still a long way to go. The leadership structure must be something that, all must be watching with eagle eye. We will not want a situation where the autonomous status will “be a curse rather than a blessing’’.
Coliation of concerned citizens with to congratulate all comrades, most especially the Upper West Regional House of Chiefs, Alhaji Ambassador Shahanu Mugtari, The Waala Traditional Council, our legal team, the media, the people of Bamahu and chief, Hon. Dassanaa Adams, and other key personalities who have supported our struggle in diverse ways.
We are thankful to CPP, PNC, NDC and NPP fraternity for supporting the course of our action.
The group is appealing to all sympathizers and well wishes that, this is the time we must be more united than before to ensure that, the rights things are done.
We further appeal to government; to do proper consultation on leadership structure. The group further recommend that, the transition team must be set up as a matter of urgency. The group will continue to monitor the situation and engage stakeholders on the way forward.
Long Live Coalition of concerned citizens!
