Wa in Upper West has recorded a single case of Coronavirus after a 42 year old man was diagnosed with the virus measures have been taken afterwards to prevent its spread.
As part of precautionary measures to reduce or stop the spread of this novel coronavirus, the Municipal Health Directorate and the Upper West Regional Health Administration have benched a screening centre at Bamahu UDS where the custom barrier is to cross check and examine all passengers travelling into the region.Eg Accra,Tamale, Kumasi, Techiman etc.
These vehicles will be stopped,then health workers will screen them. Temperature and history of passengers will be taken.
If any passenger has the signs and symptoms of the disease,there is an isolation centre at the UDS clinic where victims will be taken to further continue with investigations.
This good initiative started this afternoon and nurses will go on shift even go for night.
Security will be available in case of other emergencies.
Upper West Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih has cautioned residents of Wa and its surroundings to be cautious of Social Gatherings and Handshakes.

Why can’t we just stop vehicles from coming into the region. At the incubation stage of covid 19, the individual doesn’t show signs of fever.
It’s a good initiative alright but not 100% preventive measures.
