UNAPPROVED FEES BEING SLAPPED ON 2018 BATCH OF JIRAPA MIDWIFERY TRAINING SCHOOL BEFORE THEIR NATIONAL SERVICES LOGBOOK COULD BE SIGNED.

Jirapa Midwifery Principal is illegally collecting an unapproved amount of GH¢ 100.00 from 2018 batch of students before she could sign their end of National Services logbook for them.
She captioned it as “alumni fee” & detailed one of the staff not even the accountant to be collecting the monies; & students have to show a prove of the receipt of payment to her before she signs the logbook.

NOW THE QUESTIONS THAT AGITATE THE MIND ARE;

1. Is this alleged “alumni fee” legally approved by the Nursing & Midwifery Council, and made compulsory before the logbooks can be signed? If so why is she not using the school’s official receipt & why is there no stamp on the receipt?
2. Who took up that decision for such monies to be paid before the logbook can be signed? The school or the 2018 batch of students?
3. Why is this said monies not collected by the student’s leadership of the alumni if they have but rather a staff not even the accountant?
4. Since when did this collection of “alumni fee” start at the Jirapa Midwifery Training School? And why is it not voluntary but compulsory?
5. Were the students/parents/guardians aware of this alleged “alumni fee” before the students left the school or completed their National Service?
6.Why is it peculiar to Jirapa Midwifery alone but not the other Midwifery Training Schools. E.g. Nandom Midwifery, Tumu Midwifery etc.
7/Why should an “alumni fee” be forced on students or made compelling before their logbook could be signed?

  1. This site needs to apologize to the Jirapa Nursing Training College, and Midwifery principals, the writer lacks the credibility to proof his allegations.
    1. The caption is wrong “Students of Jirapa Nursing Training College Established by the Catholic Mission in Jirapa has been Accused of Extortion”, did I just see students, and in the narration, you say Midwifery principal.
    2. Even SHS past students pay alumni fees not to talk of Tertiary students.
    3. If you had done thorough job, you would have realized that Alumni fees doesn’t go to government coffees but alumni accounts and point of collection is determined by the Alumni supported by the Head.
    You the principal’s an apology.
