Information reaching the BBC Ghana newsdesk this morning indicates that a newly trained teacher has committed suicide murder in the Upper West Region of the country.
The late Irene Owusu Badzi was a student of Tumu College of Education in the Upper West Region of Ghana but hailed from the Volta region of the country.
The report further indicated that the late Badziwas found dead in the school’s teachers’ bungalow this morning.
A colleague teacher who spoke to Stephen Atubiga from the BBC Ghana hinted that Badzi showed no sign of been bothered but her only worry was in relation to financial constrains since her salary hasn’t been paid for close to six (6) months after postings last year.
The colleague teacher further added that her countenance over the past few weeks wasn’t encouraging as she has not been coming out of her room of late. They woke up in the early hours of today to see found dead in her room.
The police have handed over the dead body to the morgue at the St Mary Mortuary at the District Hospital and the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) in making further investigations into her sudden demise.
In other news, some newly posted teachers in the Ashanti Region, Eastern Region, and other Region have still not had access to their Staff IDs which can assure them of salary payment any moment soon.
