
Mr. Zakaria has been elected as Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC) for a 4year term.
He takes over from Mr. Abdulai Nuhu, the outgoing Chairman who has served the party for some years.
Mr. Zakaria, who is a school headteacher and a former parliamentary candidate of the PNC in the Lambussie Constituency, has some years of experience working with local, national, and international agencies to promote quality public education.
Delegates of the people’s National Convention (PNC) in the Upper West Region last Sunday elected Mr. Zakaria as its new regional chairman. Mr. Zakaria polled 100 votes to beat his closest contender, Mr. Abdulai Nuhu, who polled 35 votes.”
Victory
Mr. Zakaria, the newly elected Chairman, told the delegates to bury their differences so that the party “can win some seats in the region.”
He assured the delegates that, ” the party will win at least two seats in the December 2020 general elections under his tenure in the region”
He promised to organize a unity get together for both the winning and losing aspirants to bring all of them on board to rework and make the party more formidable in the region.
