U/W: Youth Allegedly Burn Down house of MCE over Betrayal

Some Irate youth have threatened to burn down houses built by some party appointees and executive in the Upper West Regional capital, this was after they were accused of campaigning against the Wa Central Parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic party(NPP), Hajia Humu Awudu.

The Parliamentary Candidate lost to the incumbent member of Parliament, Dr. Rashid Hassan Pelpuo who had 39, 542 votes as against 33, 340 by Hajia Humu Awudu.

According the young men, the parliamentary candidate was betrayed by the MCE, Issahaku Tahiru Moomin who lost to Hajia Humu in the Primaries.

The Regional Minister, Dr. Hafiz Bin Salih also according to the youth didn’t campaign for the parliamentary candidate and according to them, they are ready to petition the president to get him out of his post.

The New Patriotic Party lost 2 seats in Upper West Region going down to 3 seats.

The National Democratic congress also won 8 seats improving by 2.
