M P FOR LAWRA HON BEDE A. ZIEDENG DONATES 150 BAGS OF SACHET WATER TO FIRE VICTIMS OF BRIFOH SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL.- REJOINDER
The attention of the NDC in the Lawra constituency has been drawn to some mischievous publication being circulated on social media by one Desire Dickson the self- styled secretary to the former MP of Lawra Hon Anthony N. Karbo, who is operating under a fake wasap platform and facebook account in the name of the Lawra Municipal Assembly, with above screaming headline, alleging that the MP Hon. Bede A. Ziedeng in the wake of a fire outbreak at the girls dormitory of the Brifoh Senior High School in the Lawra constituency, went to the school and only donated 150bags of sachet water to the students. Tge truth of the matter is that the MP was on his Thank you tour in the constituency on the day in question when he received a distress call to the effect that fire had gutted the girls dormitory of the school. He and his team rushed to school to see what had happened.. They arrived there at about 4.30pm. They then inspected the destruction which had taken place before proceeding to a private house where the students had been evacuated to for safety, to address and console them. It was after the MP addressed them, that the MP then decided to remove money from his pocket, there and then to purchase the pure water for the students as a first line of relief for them. This was to serve as immediate relief to them, pending discussions with the Municipal Assembly as to what type of support can be given to them after consultation with the Assembly. As a matter of fact the MP did not carry water to the school as a donation to them.
Compare this with the MCE who also visited them earlier the same day and offered them absolutely nothing . What the MP did was to remove money from his pocket on the spur of the moment to provide minimal support to these students who were seriously distressed. With all the Assembly resources at his disposal, What did the NPP MCE do when he visited the students ? Or you mean the MCE was not carrying money in his pocket? What did he do? Desire Dickson himself it is being speculated, is now the owner of a pure water making facility. Has he sent any water to the students? What the MP did was to show compassion with such promptitude never seen in the history of the Lawra constituency.
