The Member of Parliament for Wa Central Constituency, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo has issued a statement regarding the recent Brutality meted out to some residents in Wa. The communique was issued through the Deputy NDC Communication Officer for Wa Central Constituency,  Mr. Abubakari Kotie Bitis.

“Dr Rashid Pelpuo’s Condemnation of military attacks on civilians in Wa Central…

1st July 2021 marks a disturbing event of an unprovoked military assault on the innocent people of Wa Central. Passers by were stopped on the middle of the road and attacked brazenly and brutally.
Upon hearing this undeserved unwarranted attack on my people I took steps and spoke to some of the leadership of the military in the region and pointed out my utter dissatisfaction and worry with the insensitive brutalities meted out to my constituents. I also placed a call to the regional Minister and sent a quick text message to the Minister of defense. I do appreciate the later call by both Ministers to register their innocence and disturbance of the act of aggression.

It is my expectation that there will be a public inquiry of this dastardly act.

This unconscionable act of abuse of the rights and freedom of our people must never be repeated under all circumstances. The military must stay at their well disciplined code of conduct.
