
The Assembly Member for Bamahu Electoral Area, Mr Adams Yahaya Jiga has called for Stakeholders including the Ghana Police Service to assist in getting security issues addressed in Bamahu to increase investor and student confidence in the town.
Explaining the Issue, the Assembly Man Noted that street Lightening system is abysmal and that has been reported to the Assembly yet the reply was that there are no funds.
He added that there is no police post in the center of the town to curtail the menace and due to robbers forcefully take away properties of students in the town.
He added that efforts are being made to make community watchdogs available to partially address the issue.
He concluded that students leave in fear at Bamahu and as a result they may discourage others from applying to the University.
Meanwhile, the Upper West Regional Police PRO, Mr. Gideon Ohene Boateng has Assured that efforts are being made the grant security requests of the Assembly Man.
