A Senior Lecturer with the Dr. Hilla Limann Technical University,  Mr. James Dugrah has advocated for Parents to give their children Cultural Names in addition to their Islamic and Christian Names they give them.

Explaining the Development,  the Lecturer and past student of Universite De Bourgogne, Dijon in France explained that it is necessary to properly identify people in order not to set a conflicting identity for them in future and in institutions such as the University,  He added the have faced challenges of that nature with students who have similar or same names most especially,  Islamic and Arabic Names.

Meanwhile,  the Former Upper West Regional Minister,  Dr. Alhaji Alhassan Sulemana had also called for Parents to give their children Traditional Names.

“PLEASE I WANT TO ADVISE PARENTS TO ALWAYS ADD A LOCAL NAME TO THEIR CHILDREN” S NAMES.YOU CAN IMAGINE SOMEBODY WITH THREE ARABIC NAMES OR THREE GREEK NAMES AND THE PERSON IS A FULL GHANAIAN”.
