Three People have been Stabbed to Death in Upper West Region Since 2019.
On the 26th of July 2019 a Man in his mid 20’s had been stabbed to death.
Francis Seidu Adongo, a 24-year-old tiler, was stabbed to death, last Friday at Tumu in the Sissala East Municipality of the Upper West Region.
He was pronounced dead by upon arrival at the Tumu Municipal Hospital around 2am.
Adongo, who is popularly known in Tumu as ‘Hallagbe’, met his untimely death last Friday dawn when he attended a vacation jam (entertainment) at the Tumu Community Centre.
Mohammed Bakuwie, a friend of the deceased, and an eyewitness, said he and his friend were about to enter the centre to take part in the entertainment when the suspect, KachuuGargo, stabbed him (Adongo) on the chest.
Bakuwie said the deceased after the attack attempted running, but fell down on, and the suspect again stabbed him.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mr Stephen Abanga said the suspect is currently on the run and efforts are being made to arrest him.
He called on the citizens to volunteer information on the whereabouts of the suspect so that the police could arrested the assailant, adding that the body of the deceased has since been released to the family for burial.

A 29-year-old man, Faisal Muniru, has been stabbed by his friend, Ziad Osman to death with a “jackknife” at Wa in the Upper West Region.
This was after the two had a confrontation.
It is unclear what caused the fight, but information indicates that Ziad Osman threatened to kill Faisal Muniru when they had the confrontation.
On his way to make an official complaint at the police station about his death threat, Faisal Muniru met Ziad Osman on the way where the suspect attacked him and stabbed him on his chest.
It was reported that the knife broke into the chest of the victim and he was rushed to the Upper West Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
However, the suspect, who tried to escape from the Region was busted by the police and currently assisting the police with investigations.
The Public Relations Officer of the Upper West Regional Police Command, Chief Inspector Gideon Ohene Boateng called on the general public to be careful not to take the law into their hands, bemoaning the state of murder cases in the Region.
Finally, on the 24th o September, 2021, another report of Such Nature had occured where a young man was also Stabbed to Death at Gudayiri, a Community in the Wa East District of Upper West Region.
