Nadowli: Ideapath Consult, Yinson Tech Hub Empowers SMEs with Business Development Skills

The Workshop took place in Nadowli

Two leading Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) have built 74 SMEs’ business development capacities in the Nadowli/ Kaleo District of the Upper West Region.

The Small and Medium-scale Enterprises (SMEs) include; Weavers, fashion designers, traders and storekeepers. Other SMEs were; dealers in electronics, mason, carpenter and market women.

The four-day training had resource persons engaging beneficiaries on topical issues including entrepreneurship, building a sustainable business, basic business management, business financial management and digitalization, and business plan development.

The fourth day of the training had participants in groups of five or six members submitting their presentations on their business ideas.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ideapath Consult and a trainer Mr. Tahiru Lukman urged SMEs to work towards formalizing their businesses-registration for there are more benefits to operating a legal entity than a non-legal enterprise.

He further charged them to strive to improve their skills, excellent customer relations and effective record-keeping using the cash books. He underscored that being an entrepreneur is challenging, however, with a good attitude, commitment and dedication you can turn your entrepreneurial ability into envious opportunities. He urged them to think beyond doing business within their scope.
The Business Lead for Yison Tech Hub and also a trainer Mr. Prosper Yofaa urged beneficiaries to adopt the knowledge and skills they acquire from the training workshops into their businesses.

He was positive that, the programme will only make them better entrepreneurs if the right lessons and ideas gotten are put into practice.
Ideapath Consult and Yinson Tech Hub were the service providers under the auspices of Intelligent Capital whereas the programme was sponsored by Ghana Enterprise Agency (GEA), MasterCard Foundation, Young African Works, and the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) with ground mobilization by Business Advisory Center (BAC) as District Head.
