Azumah Resources LTD is Into Gold Mining

Some Youth on Social Media have reacted to a sports program organized by Azumah Resources LTD in Nadowli-Kaleo District.

The Company has been in the Upper West Region for over 25 years. The Australian Company focuses on Mineral Extraction from several areas in Nadowli and in Other Districts such as the Wa East District.

Background

Azumah Resources Ghana Limited, a mineral exploration company in the Upper West Region, has over the weekend, organised a cycling competition among some communities in the Nadowli Kaleo District to help foster unity and collaboration between the company and residents.

This is the 7th time Azumah Resource Ghana Limited has organized the competition in the district. The competition saw participants from 11 communities who competed for various awards from the male and female categories. The participating communities included Nanga, Tangasia, Gabilee, Mwindaali, Yaale/Yaru/Vuoyiri, Tanduori, Saan, Sanpini, Yiziiri, Kalsegraa, Nadowli and Yagha.
Mr. Hector Nyinaku the Country Director of Azumah Resources Ghana Limited in charge of Administration and Logistics at the event durbar disclosed that the company has identified two mining sites that have commercial gold deposits. According to him, the company plans to raise funds to begin mining construction beginning 2022 to enable them start commercial mining in the Upper West Region of Ghana .

Mr. Hector mentioned Kunche in the Nadowli-Kaleo and Julie in the Wa East districts as areas where the company has discovered deposits of gold in commercial quantities.

All 129 cyclist who took part in the Azumah Resources Community Cycling Fun in the Nadowli-Kaleo district took home branded Azumah Resources Ghana Limited T-shirts and the winners also took home various prizes ranging from a table-top refrigerator, flat screen LED televisions, bicycles, mobile phones and knapsack sprayers.

Yagha community emerged as the overall winner of the community awards category and was given a cash prize of Gh¢1,500. First runner-up, Yiziri community took home Gh¢ 1000 as well as the second runner-up, Char-Sampina also taking away Gh¢500.

The event was graced by dignitaries such as Chiefs, Assemble members, Imams, opinion leaders, representatives from the Nadowli District Assembly and community members from all participating communities.
