The Wa East District Assembly Headed by Hon. Dr. Ewura Kandia as District Chief Executive has Successfully Elected a Presiding Member.

The election took place on 30th of March 2022 in Funsi. This was after the Former Presiding Member was appointed as District Chief Executive of the area in 2022.

According to the Local Government Act 936 of 2016, the Presiding Member shall hold office for a term of two years and is eligible for reelection subject to sub-section (6) of the same Act.

The Assembly Member for Bunaa Electoral Area was Elected after three Assembly Members contested, the three, Hon. Inusah Osman Assembly man from Bunaa, Ibrahim Atawulahi, Assembly Member for Dupari Electoral Area and Hon. Inusah Halidu Dumah M Kundungu Electoral Area.

The Election were held and no Member could secure two-third of the total votes from 32 members in the house, Out of 37 Assembly Members for Wa East, 5 Were Absent.

A second Voting was held after a mutual concensus and Hon. Inusah Osman secured the Required margin of votes, 26 Votes and was Declared winner. The two other Assembly Members withdrew from the race.
