The Assembly Member for Gbanko Electoral Area, Mr. Simon Mwinipuoba has expressed worry about the absence of a Maternity Ward in his electoral Area located within the Nadowli-Kaleo District.

In an Interview with Upperwestmedia Team, he explained that Pregnant women are compelled to Travel to Nadowli District hospital for the purpose of Childbirth, a situation he described as worrying.

The Assembly Member called for the Nadowli-Kaleo District Health Directorate headed by Ms Phoebe Balagumyitime to Assist in Addressing the Challenge.

With regards to our health, it’s fair to say we have a CHPS compound with water but it’s a bit saddening that our women have no access to a Maternity ward making it a worrying situation for them, they go through hell in an attempt to access well equiped health facilities in Nadowli and other areas within which are far from us, we are appealing for Stakeholders to step inn and assist us.
