UW: 6 Top Politicians Based in Accra But Linked to Upper West Region

Several Dignified Politicians in Ghana are linked to the Upper West Region directly or indirectly, the Politicians outlined below are not very popular in Upper West Region because the hardly come around but they are linked to the Upper West Region in one way or the other.

firstly, Hannah Bisiw. Hanna Louisa Bissiw Is a Ghanaian politician who is a former Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture and also a former Member of Parliament for Tano South, Brong Ahafo Region Ghana. She is a member and the National Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress in Ghana. Hannah Bisiw revealed she is from Dafiama in the Dafiama-Busie-Issa District of Upper West Region.

Secondly, Joseph Yamin. Joseph Yamin is the former Deputy Minister for Youth Sports and Culture. He was recently elected as National Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He Revealed to Upper West Media Team that his mother is an indigine of Sankana in the Nadowli-Kaleo District.

Thirdly, Sheikh IC Quaye. Sheikh Ibrahim Cudjoe Quaye born 30 July 1937 is a Ghanaian politician who represented the constituency of Ayawaso Central in the Parliament of Ghana from 1996 to 2011. He has also served as Regional Minister of the Greater Accra Region under Kufuor’s government from 2001 to 2009. Sheikh IC Quaye’s Family moved from Lambussie to Alajo to settle there in the 50s. Residents of Alajo were mostly Sissala.

Fourthly, Moses Dani Baah: Moses Dani Baah is a Ghanaian politician and was the Member of Parliament for the Sissala East constituency in the Upper West Region of Ghana. He was a member of the People’s National Convention. He has not been very dominant in the Upper West Region like other Politicians such as Bernard Mornah.

Lastly, Betty Mould Iddrisu: Betty Nah-Akuyea Mould-Iddrisu is a Ghanaian lawyer and politician. A member of the National Democratic Congress, she was Minister for Education in Ghana from 2011 to 2012, after serving as Attorney General and Minister for Justice of Ghana from 2009 to 2011. Betty Mould is Married to A Prodigious Personality from Upper West Region, Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu but but busy schedules have kept her away from Upper West Region.

Alhaji Mahama Iddrisu is a Ghanaian politician and a businessman. Iddrisu was a member of the Provisional National Defence Council and he is a former Minister for Defence. He is a founding member of the National Democratic Congress.

Sixthly, Samuel Ablakwa: He is the MP for North Tongu very revered person married to Late Former Wa Central MPs Daughter, Lawyer Nuhela Seidu, Hon. Ablakwa is also linked to the Sissala Clan.
