
The Upper West Regional Hospital has made a Part Payment of their total debt of Ghc2 million owed the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCO).
This was revealed by Mr Francis Yormesor the Wa Operational Area Manager in an engagement with the media.
The Company went on an Operation, 18th of April 2022 to collect monies owed them from Companies and public institutions.
Mr Francis Yormesor, the Wa Operational Area Manager of the VRA/NEDCo, said the hospital made a payment of GH₵50,000 of the GH₵20 million it owed the electricity distribution company.
He, however, said the Ministry of Health had requested his outfit to compile a comprehensive list of all health facilities in the operational area that owed the company, with the corresponding debts which he had done with the hope that the ministry would settle the debt.
The Nursing Training School in Wa, Dr. Hila Limann Technical University (DHLTU), and the Wa High Court that were also disconnected had also been re-connected after they made part payment of their debts.
Mr Yormesor explained that the DHLTU also paid GH₵50,000 of its GH₵2.2 million it owed, the Wa High Court paid about GH₵11,900 of the about GHȻ16,000 debt, while the Nursing Training School had also paid GH₵5,000 of the about Gh₵26,000 it owed.
He Stated that they were following up on the management of the Dr Hilla Liman Technical University to pay at least 75% of its debt or risk being disconnected again also a payment plan had been agreed with the Wa Nursing Training College to settle the remaining debt by ending of May.
The Wa Operational Area had so far mobilized GH₵2.3 million of the Gh₵89 million target in their Operation.
