A young man believes to be in his early 20s has been allegedly gunned down by unknown assailants on his way to work, dawn of Saturday, May 20, 2023, in the Jirapa municipality of the Upper West Region.

The deceased who was identified as Puorizuma Morris was found dead along the Jirapa Senior High School (JISEC) road.According to reports He is a native of Konkuo a suburb of Jirapa.
It is alleged that the deceased was seen early in the morning along Jisec Road.

Information gathered from the deceased’s family indicates that the young man left home early in the morning to work on Saturday 20th May 2023, this was disclosed by the victim’s mother who is a sanitation officer in the Jirapa Municipal Assembly.

Preliminary investigations by the Jirapa Municipal Police command led to the arrest of one person who is alleged to have had a hand in the incident, Some sources that led to the arrest of the alleged suspect indicate that two guns were found in his room

Another Source disclosed that two goats were found tired in an incomplete building closer to the scene where the victim was gunned down.

The body was deposited in St Joseph’s Hospital Mortuary for preservation but was later released to the family for traditional mourning and burial.
