
The second congregation of SD Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (UBIDS) came off at the Bamahu Campus of the university in the Upper West Region on the 3rd of November 2023. The ceremony saw many students graduating in various academic fields -undergraduate and postgraduate studies.
Remarkably, one enterprising story has been a young political activist, youth leader, and emerging entrepreneur, Haq Issah Muhammad. He set a personal academic record owing to his sense of commitment and dedication as he emerged on the university record to become the first ever Master of Philosophy in Human Resource Management graduate.
He has authored and submitted an exceptional academic project on the topic; Assessing the Impact of Strategic Human Resource Management on the Performance of Hospitality Industries in the Upper West Region.
The quality of his research coupled with top high technical guidance and commitment of his academic supervisors, except for the thesis will be published in a high-impact journal.
Speaking to friends and family members in the early hours of the graduation ceremony, Mr. Haq Issah Mohammad indicated, that he never believed the increasing financial burden of pursuing academic qualifications and personal life experiences that are setbacks could make him concentrate and work hard to graduate; I think it is a matter of principles and commitment and your will realized your dreams.
Mr. Haq Issah Mohammad indicated that today’s graduation is for moral lessons to his daughter to aspire for greater heights “I dedicate this certificate to you (my daughter) you will rise and conquer more than your father; my little angel”.
I equally, dedicate this success to the support of my Mum (Hajia Barata).
He has showered praises to special friends and family who supported him in this journey.
He is thankful to Dr. Ibrahim Kaleem his supervisor for his sacrifice and mentorship; Prof. John Y. Akaparep (his internal examiner; Mr. Tahiru Lukman [Prof] Chief Executive Officer of Ideapath Consult whom he described as his academic god-father; Dr. Hafiz Bin Salin (Upper West Regional Minister) for his guidance and counseling.
He is also particularly thankful to the following distinguished personalities for gracing the occasion; Madam Nancy Dery (NPP Upper West Regional Women Organizer). Hanif Jaoto, Yahaya Sharifdeen, Seidu Yussif, Abdul Aziz Hakika, Salifu Samir, Zakaria Amanat, Kappiah Bahia, and Fatahia Mahadeen.
Mr. Haq Issah Muhammad, close to a decade ago, obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Integrated Community Development from the University of Development Studies, an alumnus of UDS, and is now also a UBIDS alumnus.
He is a public servant with high academic and professional prospects.
He is continuing the journey to more academic exploits by preparing to submit research papers to high-impact journals in the field of Strategic Human Resource Management.
