The Senior Assistant Registrar, Academic Affairs, Simon Diedong Dombo University of Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS), Mr. Mu-een Abdulai has issued a statement after some past Student lamented over their inability to Access certified copies of their certificates On the 3rd of November 2023.

The University held it’s 2nd Congregation on the 3rd of November 2023. 1,513 Students were Awarded PhDs, Masters, Degree and Diploma Certificates as Against 1,176 Last Year.

Mr. Mu-een Abdulai Expressed Concern and willingness of management to assist students but attributed it to communication lapses.

“We were ready to give students certified copies of their certificates but I will say it’s an issue of information gap because as we were issuing the certificates there was a staff readily available to certify the certificates once students are able to make copies and bring to the center buts I was like some graduates didn’t have that information so they said they were not able to Access certified copies of their certificates”.

He also blamed the inability of management to print out certified copies for students on the lack of resources.

“What happens is that we are not so much resourced in terms of staff and equipment to be able to photocopy all the certificates of the students and certify for them at the graduation ground so what we did was, we said once you pick your certificate, you should make the copies and come and then we will be able to certify them for you”.

He Assured Students of Improvements in subsequent years ahead.

“.. Moving forward in the Next One or two years we will make sure that we make the photocopies ourselves, certify them, add them to the original certificate and give it out to the student so for now it is not that we are not abel to give, we are readily available and the staff is always on desk ready to certify it for the students “.

He Finally Outlined Steps management will take to improve such services.

“.. Moving forward we will make sure we put notices across both on our Social Media platforms and our university platform to Inform them that my staff are readily available to give them certified copies of their certificates once they make copies sand bring it to the office, we are not to make copies for them, students are supposed to make make copies and bring them for us to provide them with certified copies”.
